W-most of the Terra Firma Islands, off Mikkelsen Bay, Fallières Coast, was surveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1948 and named Dumbbell Islet from its shape (APC, 1955, p.9; DCS 601 sheet 68 66, 1955). Dumbbell Island (APC, 1959a, p.6; BA chart 3571, 14.vii.1961).
