A nunatak about 4 km south of Mt. Henderson in Mac.Robertson land. Plotted by Norwegian cartographers from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37) and called Sørnuten (The South Peak). This feature was the site of a remote weather station established by ANARE in 1955. Renamed by ANARE after H J L Fischer, Cook at Mawson in 1958.

Fischer, cook at Mawson Station in 1958.
