W coast of Fildes Peninsula, King George Island, was roughly charted by nineteenth-century sealers and called descriptively Tableland (Goddard, chart [1821]). Table Land (BA, 1930, p. 60). The feature was recharted by DI in 1935 and named Flat Top Peninsula (Nelson and others, chart, 1935b; BA chart 1774, 9.vii.1948; APC, 1955, p.10; DOS 610 sheet W 62 58, 1968).
