Name ID: 107697 Place ID: 1008 on NE side of Mount Rendu near head of Heim Glacier, Arrowsmith Peninsula, following geological work in the area by BAS from Rothera, 1980-81, and in association with the names of glaciologists grouped in this area, was named after Albert Bauer (b. 1916), French engineer and glaciologist who conducted research on glaciers in Greenland, Iceland, Îles Kerguelen and Terre Adélie; formerly with Expéditions Polaires Fran aises (Moyes and Hamer, 1984, map Fig. 1, p. 42; APC, 1986, p. 3).

Name ID: 122280 Place ID: 1008 A projecting rock buttress on the NE side of Mount Rendu on Arrowsmith Peninsula, Loubet Coast, Graham Land. Named by UK-APC following geological work by BAS, 1980-81. Named after Albert Bauer, French engineer and glaciologist who conducted research on glaciers in Iles Kerguelen, Adelie Coast, Greenland, and Iceland; formerly with Expeditions Polaires Francaises.

Name ID: 1008 Place ID: 14603 A small island, about 2 km SSW of Branstetter Rocks, on the eastern side of the Amery Ice Shelf. Delineated from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47).Named after R.B. Thil, air-crew member on Operation Highjump.
