El nombre fue puesto por lo primeros foqueros americanos, debido a los fuertes soplos de vientos experimentados en este angosto paso. Paso situado en el lado SE de la isla Decepción, que forma la entrada a bahía Foster en las islas Shetland del Sur. Es un paso estrecho que mide 3 cables de ancho, está obstruido por bajos fondos y por la roca Ravn situada en su medianía. Su costa N es acantilada y se alza en forma de una pared vertical hasta una altura de 90 a 140 metros. |

"The entrance is by the Americans called Neptune's Billow's [presumably in error for Neptune's Bellows] owing to the gusts that blow in and out as if they came through a trumpet or funnell [sic]..." (Fildes, 1821c). Dragons Mouth, so called after the sealing ship Dragon (Capt. A. McFarlane, McFarlane Strait, q.v.), from Liverpool, which visited the South Shetland Islands, 1820-21 (Davis, 1821-22, 30 December 1821).
