That portion of the E coast of the Antarctic Peninsula between Cape Longing and Cape Fairweather. The name was proposed in 1909 by Edwin Swift Balch, for Dr. Otto Nordenskjold, Swedish geographer and leader of the SwedAE, 1901-04, who explored this coast in 1902.

El nombre fue puesto en 1909 por Edwin Swift Balch, en honor de Otto Nordenskjöld, geógrafo sueco y jefe de la Expedición Sueca que se realizó entre 1901-1904, que exploró esta costa en 1902. Se llama así aquella porción de la costa E de la península Tierra de O'Higgins que se extiende de cabo Longing a cabo Fairweather. Presenta accidentes geográficos importantes: ensenada Larsen, cabos Sobral, Worsley, Fairweather, glaciar Drygalski, nunataks Tillberg, meseta Detroit, isla Lindenberg, todos estos accidentes están cubiertos casi completamente por hielo y nieve.
