rising to 1810m, E of Northeast Glacier, Marguerite Bay, Fallières Coast, was roughly surveyed by BGLE in 1936 (Rymill, 1938a, map facing p.432); resurveyed by USAS and so named probably because it was the site of a survey beacon (Ronne, 1943, map; APC, 1955, p.5; DCS 601 sheet 68 66, 1955). The hill was further surveyed by FIDS from Stonington Island , 1946-50.

An ice-covered, dome-shaped hill (1,810 m) which rises 120 m above the surrounding plateau ice surface, situated 2.5 mi NE of McLeod Hill in central Antarctic Peninsula. The hill surmounts the divide between Northeast Glacier and Bills Gulch. Surveyed and named by the USAS, 1939-41; the hill may have been the site of a beacon at that time. The USAS operated a plateau weather station close southwestward (6807S, 6630W) of the hill throughout November and December 1940.

An ice-covered island about 19 km long and 11 km wide, which is marked by rock exposures along the northern and eastern sides, and is lying off the mouth of the Reid Glacier in Queen Mary Land. Discovered by the Western Base Party of A A E (1911-14). Named by Sir Douglas Mawson after Professor Sir R W Edgeworth David, a member of the AAE Advisory Committee.
