SW of Eadie Island, South Shetland Islands, was roughly charted by Bransfield in February-March 1820 and, together with Aspland Island and Eadie Island, named O'Briens Islands (q.v.) (Bransfield, chart, [1820b]; BA chart [no number], 1822). O'Brien's Island, referring to the present feature only (Baird, 1821, p.233; Powell, chart, 1822a).
