El nombre corresponde al apellido de Raúl Carmona, intendente de la provincia de Magallanes, Chile, quien viajó al Territorio Chileno Antártico con la Expedición Antártica Chilena de 1962-1963. Caleta abierta al N, de aproximadamente 1,4 milla de boca y 1 milla de saco, en cuyo fondo fluye el ventisquero Suárez, y que se ubica en el rincón SW de la bahía Paraíso, costa W de la península Tierra de O'Higgins. |

between Stony Point and Garzón Point, Danco Coast, was roughly charted by the whalers from 1912, when the name Coughtrey Cove (Coughtrey Peninsula, q.v.) was applied probably to this feature (Ferguson, chart, 1918a); further charted by BAE, 1920-22, and called South Bay (Lester, 1920-22a, Vol.4, p.171); recharted by AAE, 1949-50, and named Caleta Oscar from the forename of the Second-in-command of the expedition ship Chiriguano (Argentina. MM, 1953, p.253; Pierrou, 1970, p.569). Bahía Skontrop [sic], in error (Skontorp Cove, q.v.) (Argentina. MM chart 106a, 1954). The cove was photographed from the air by FIDASE and surveyed from the ground by FIDS from "Danco Island", 1956-57. Oscar Cove (USHO, 1961, p.152a; APC, 1980, p.4). |

A cove next W of Garzon Point in southern Paradise Harbor, Danco Coast, Graham Land. The cove was named "Caleta Oscar" by the Argentine Antarctic Expedition, 1949-50, from the forename of the second-in- command of the expedition ship Chiriguano used in survey of the area. |
