rising to c. 700m, SSW of Cape Worsley, Nordenskjöld Coast, were surveyed by FIDS from Hope Bay , 1960-61; in association with the names of pioneer designers of oversnow vehicles grouped in this area, named after Lieut. Col. Mieczyslaw Gregory Bekker, RCE, Polish born Canadian engineer; author of Theory of land locomotion (Ann Arbor, 1956), a comprehensive source of information on the physical relationship between snow mechanics and track-laying vehicles, skis and sledges (APC, 1964, p.2; BAS 250 sheet SQ 19-20/4, 1-DOS 1974).

Three nunataks lying below Ruth Ridge on the N side of Drygalski Glacier in Graham Land. Mapped from surveys by FIDS (1960-61). Named by UK-APC for Lt. Col. Mieczyslaw G. Bekker, Canadian engineer, author of Theory of Land Locomotion, 1956, a comprehensive source of information on the physical relationship between snow mechanics and track-laying vehicles, skis and sledges.

A high ice-covered island on the western side of the Amery Ice Shelf. Plotted as a peninsula from ANARE air photographs. An astrofix was obtained at Trost Rocks, a rock outcrop on the north-eastern side of the island by D.R. Carstens, surveyor at Mawson in 1962. The feature was found to be an island by a party from the ANARE Prince Charles Mountains survey party in 1971. Named after M. Single, senior diesel mechanic at Mawson in 1962, a member of the field party which first visited the area.
