A prominent, solitary nunatak at the eastern edge of the Amery Ice Shelf. Discovered on 2 November, 1957, during a flight by an ANARE Beaver aircraft over the Amery Ice Shelf. Named after Flight Sergeant R. Pickering, RAAF, of the Antarctic Flight at Mawson in 1957.
