Narrow ice-filled inlet about 8 mi long, indenting the N side of Thurston Island immediately E of Starr Peninsula. First delineated from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump in December 1946. Named by US-ACAN for Dr. Louis H. Potaka, medical officer with the ByrdAE, 1933-35.
