Fue descubierta por la Expedición Francesa de 1903-1905 al mando del Dr. Jean B. Charcot, quien le puso este nombre por el Sr. Py, en aquel tiempo presidente de la Cámara de Comercio Francesa en Buenos Aires. Esta punta tiene una longitud de 1 milla por 2,5 cables de ancho. Constituye el extremo S de la isla Doumer a 10 millas de la costa W de la península Tierra de O'Higgins. |
