rising to 865m on N side of Neny Fjord, Fallières Coast, was surveyed by BGLE in 1936 (Rymill, 1938a, p.432); resurveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1947; called descriptively Pyramid Peak by RARE (Ronne, 1949, photograph facing p.109); in association with Mount Nemesis (q.v.), named Mount Rhamnus after Rhamnus in Attica where the Greek goddess Nemesis had a sanctuary (APC, 1955, p.18; DCS 601 sheet 68 66, 1955). |

Mountain, 865 m, which lies 2 mi NE of Mount Nemesis on the N side of Neny Fjord, Graham Land. Seen from the W, it appears as a mainly snow-covered pyramid. First surveyed in 1936 by the BGLE under Rymill. Resurveyed in 1947 by the FIDS who named the mountain for its association with Mount Nemesis. According to the mythological story, the Greek goddess Nemesis had a celebrated sanctuary at Rhamnus in Attica. |
