Island 11 mi long and 8 mi wide, lying between Nelson and Greenwich Islands in the South Shetland Islands. The name dates back to at least 1821 and is now established in international usage.

Este nombre data de comienzos del año 1821 y ahora su uso está establecido internacionalmente. Mide 10 millas de largo por 6 de ancho, situada entre las islas Nelson y Greenwich, en las islas Shetland del Sur. La isla está cubierta por una gruesa capa de hielo. Presenta al exterior una superficie pareja. Sus costas están constituidas por acantilados de hielo, en verano presentando superficies de piedra desnuda.
