La punta fue cartografiada durante el año 1947 por el FIDS y fue bautizada por el Comité Británico de Nombres Antárticos en 1950. El nombre no es personal. Punta coronada por un pico de unos 640 metros de altura y que señala el lado N de la entrada a ensenada Evans en la costa E de la península Tierra de O'Higgins. La ensenada Evans fue vista por primera vez desde el aire por Sir Hubert Wilkins el 20 de diciembre de 1928. |
