extending NE-SW from Pitt Islands to Barcroft Islands and including Renaud Island, Rabot Island, Lavoisier Island, Krogh Island, Watkins Island and Belding Island, were discovered by John Biscoe, Master, RN (1794-1843) on 17-18 February 1832, following his discovery of Enderby Land, AAT, the previous year (Biscoe, 1830-33b); named, probably by Messrs Enderby, Biscoe's Range after the discoverer ([Biscoe], 1833d, p.110). Chain of islands, of which the principal ones are Renaud, Rabot, Lavoisier and Watkins, lying parallel to the W coast of Graham Land and extending 80 mi in a NE-SW direction. Named for John Biscoe, leader of a British expedition which explored the islands on Feb. 17 and 18, 1832.

El nombre les fue dado por el apellido del capitán de navío John Biscoe, RN (Ret), quien dirigió la Expedición Británica de 1830-1832, en las naves "Tula" y "Lively", enviada por sus armadores, la empresa Enderby Brothers, de Londres. El capitán Biscoe exploró estas islas el 17 y 18 de febrero de 1832. Cordón de islas e islotes de 85 millas de largo, que se extiende paralelo a la costa occidental de Tierra de O'Higgins a una distancia media de 20 millas, desde las islas Pitt hasta el estrecho Matha. Las principales son: islas Pitt, isla Renaud, isla Rabot, isla Serrano e isla Watkins.

A cluster of bare rock faces with one peak west of the Matusevich Glacier, Oates Land. This is probably the most prominent rock outcrop on the western edge of the Matusevich Glacier. Photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47). Photographed on 20 February 1959 by the ANARE Expedition on the MV Magga Dan led by Phillip Law. Named after Dr D.F. Martyn, FRS, a member of the ANARE Executive Planning Committee.
