Named after one of the Titans in Greek mythology. Talos was a Cretan giant who assisted Minos in the defence of Crete. |

The feature was delineated by the SPRI-NSF-TUD airborne radio echo sounding program, 1967-79, and was named after Talos of Greek mythology, who assisted Minos in the defense of Crete. |
