rising to c. 300 m between Brahms Inlet and Mendelssohn Inlet, Beethoven Peninsula, SW Alexander Island, was photographed from the air by RARE in 1947 and mapped from air photographs by FIDS in 1959; in association with the names of other composers in this area, named after Petr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky (1840-93), Russian composer ([in 71°14'S 73°31'W] APC, 1961, p.3; DOS 710 sheet 14, 1963; Searle, 1963, end map; [co-ordinates corrected from US LANDSAT imagery of January 1973] BAS 250P sheet SR 17-18/15, 16, 1-DOS 1974; APC, 1977, p.32). Mount Tchaikousky [sic] (USHO chart 16384-5, 1961).

Snow-covered mountain, c. 600 m, with scarps on the S and E sides, located in the N part of Derocher Peninsula, Alexander Island. A number of mountains in this vicinity first appear on maps by the RARE, 1947-48. This mountain, apparently one of these, was mapped from RARE air photos by Searle of the FIDS in 1960. Named by UK-APC after Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky (1840-93), Russian composer.
