The larger of two partly snow-covered mountains in the western extension of the Athos Range, Prince Charles Mountains, about 20 km south-west of Mount Starlight. Recorded on terrestrial photographs taken by R H Lacey, surveyor at Mawson in 1955, and aerial photography by ANARE in 1959 and 1965. Named after P A Bensley, carpenter at Mawson in 1965.
