A former large and rather compact iceberg tongue described as 'about 70 mi long and 20 mi wide'. In January 1966 its south end was only 3 mi north of Thwaites Glacier Tongue, from whence it had broken off.' In 1986 the feature ungrounded and began heading out to sea, rotating a full 90° by 1990. After grounding briefly again at the Bakutis Coast in 1995 it drifted north and broke up.

A very large and rather compact iceberg tongue which is aground and lies in the Amundsen Sea, about 20 mi NE of Bear Peninsula, Marie Byrd Land. The feature is about 70 mi long and 20 mi wide and in January 1966 its S end was only 3 mi N of Thwaites Glacier Tongue, from whence it had broken off. Delineated by USGS from aerial photographs taken by USN Operation HighJump, 1946-47, and USN OpDFrz, 1959-66. Named by US-ACAN in association with Thwaites Glacier and Thwaites Glacier Tongue.
