A bay, approximately 11.5km wide and 7km deep, being a recession in the coast between Oates Piedmont Glacier and Evans Piedmont Glacier along the coast of Victoria Land. The feature is mostly filled with an ice shelf formed by the flows of Albrecht Penck Glacier, Fry Glacier, and Hedblom Glacier, projection out for several kilometres as Tripp Ice Tongue. A bay along the coast of Victoria Land formed by a recession in the ice between the Oates Piedmont Glacier and Evans Piedmont Glacier. The bay was first charted by the BrAE, 1907-09. The name appears to have been first used by the BrAE (1910-13) and derives from Tripp Island which lies within the bay. |
