submerged rock off N coast of Nelson Island, was photographed from the air by FIDASE in 1956; in association with the names of ninteenth-century sealers in this area, named after Capt. Benjamin Upton, Master of the American sealing ship Nancy (Nancy Rock, q.v.), from Salem, Mass., who visted the South Shetland Islands, 1821-22 (APC, 1962, p.32; BA chart 1774, 14.ix.1962).
