Point remarquable, découvert sur les photographies aériennes signalé à la 3e expédition française en terre Adélie et atteint par cette dernière le 01.12.52, pour y faire une détermination astronomique, et caler l'assemblage des photographies destiné à l'établissement des cartes de terre Adélie. |

Prominent offshore rock 0.4 mi long, lying close inside the E side of the entrance to Victor Bay, 1 mi NW of Gravenoire Rock. Photographed from the air by USN Operation HighJump, 1946-47. Charted by the FrAE under Marret, 1952-53. So named because the rock was indicated by a cross or "X" mark in selected prints of the Operation HighJump photographs for the purpose of identifying it to the FrAE party which established an astronomical control station there. |
