N entrance point of Dogs Leg Fjord, off Bourgeois Fjord, Fallières Coast, was surveyed by BGLE in 1936; resurveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1948 and named after Harold Bottrill (1895-1948), Chairman of the Board of Directors, Maclean and Stapledon SA, shipping agents at Montevideo, who gave great assistance to BGLE and to FIDS, 1943-48 (APC, 1955, p.6; BAS 250P sheet SQ 19-20/14, 1-DOS 1978). Rugged headland on the E side of Bourgeois Fjord which forms the N side of the entrance to Dogs Leg Fjord, on the W coast of Graham Land. First surveyed in 1936 by the BGLE under Rymill. The headland was resurveyed in 1948 by the FIDS who named it for Harold Bottrill, Chairman of the Board of Directors, later Gen. Mgr., of Maclean and Stapledon S.A., shipping agents at Montevideo, who gave great assistance to the BGLE, 1934-37, and to FIDS, 1943-48. |
