A piedmont glacier, covering about square miles, lying southward of New Harbour and merging with Blue Glacier on its southern extremity along the west coast of McMurdo Sound. This glacier was discovered by the NAE, 1901-04, but was not named until the BAE, 1910-13. Named by Taylor for Lieutenant Henry R Bowers, RIM, who lost his life on the return journey from the South Pole. |

Piedmont glacier on the coast of Victoria Land, covering about 40 square mi and lying just S of New Harbor. It merges at its S side with Blue Glacier. Discovered by the British National Antarctic Expedition (BrNAE) (1901-04), but not named until the British Antarctic Expedition (BrAE) (1910-13). Named by Taylor for Lieutenant Henry R. Bowers, who perished with Scott on the return journey from the South Pole. |

The névé at the head of the Priestley Glacier in Victoria Land. Named by the New Zealand Antarctic Place Names Committee in about 1966 in association with the Priestley Glacier. Priestley Glacier was named after Raymond E. Priestley, geologist with the Northern Party of the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13. The feature lies partly within the Ross Dependency. |
