A lake 0.5 mi long located 1 mi W of the central part of Lake Zvezda in the Vestfold Hills. The lake was photographed from the air by USN Operation HighJump (1946-47) and was mapped from air photos by the SovAE (1956) and ANARE (1957-58). Named by ANCA for C. Braunsteffer, weather observer at Davis Station in 1959, who carried out scientific investigations on lakes in the Vestfold Hills.

A nunatak about 20 km south-east of Ricker Hills and just north-east of McLea Nunatak. Named by the southern party of the New Zealand Geological and Survey Expedition (1962-63) after D. Richards radio operator at Scott Base.
