Descubierto en 1944 por la Operación Tabarín del FIDS de 1943-1945, al mando del capitán de corbeta J.W.S. Marr, RNVN, recibiendo este nombre descriptivo (rompeolas). Este islote, muy característico y que semeja un cubo de piedra de 33 metros de elevación, emerge a 5,3 millas al S del cabo Astrup y muy próximo a la costa oriental de la isla Wiencke, archipiélago de Palmer. |
