Photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47), ANARE 1956 and 1965 and the Soviet Antarctic Expedition 1956. Sighted by C.R. Eklund, scientific leader at Wilkes in 1957. Included in a triangulation by A. McLaren in 1965. Named after R.L. Long, Jnr., ionospheric physicist at Wilkes in 1957. |
