A group of ridges about 266 km SSE of Mawson, in Mac.Robertson Land. They are mainly snow and ice covered, with exposed brown rocks forming the summits. Heights range from 2,006 m to 2,036 m above sea level. First visited by an ANARE party led by J.M. Béchervaise on 30 November, 1955. An ice-filled inlet in the SE part of Getz Ice Shelf, bounded to the W by Scott Peninsula and Nunn Island and to the E by Spaulding Peninsula, on the Bakutis Coast, Marie Byrd Land. Named by US-ACAN after Lt. Cdr. Lawrence A. Brennan, USNR, who helped plan and execute the recovery of three damaged LC-130 aircraft from Dome Charlie (q.v.) in East Antarctica, successfully accomplished in the 1975-76 and 1976-77 seasons. |
