Alexis-Henri Brialmont (1821-1903), Belgian military engineer; member of the Acad'mie Royale de Belgique, who was appointed first President of the Commission de la Belgica in December 1899 (Lecointe, map, 1899; Gerlache, 1900b, p.466).
