A Peak, about 1524 m high, in the northern part of Sturge Island, in the Balleny Islands. Discovered in February 1839 by Balleny, who named it for W Brown, one of the seven London merchants who combined with Charles Enderby in sending out the expedition. Incorrectly named Russell Peak by Ross, who saw the peak in 1841. Also sometimes incorrectly called Brown's Peak. |
