A peak about 1,380 m above sea level, approximately 48 km south of Cape Bruce in Mac. Robertson Land. Discovered on 8 February 1931, by BANZARE (1929-31) under Sir Douglas Mawson, who named it after Clive Latham Baillieu (later Baron Baillieu), who subscribed to the cost of the expedition.

running NW-SE between d'Urville Island and Bransfield Island, was charted by FIDS in January 1947 from Trepassey on the first navigation of the passage; named after Capt. Eugene Moores Burden (1892-1979), of Carbonear, Newfoundland, Master of Trepassey, 1946-47 (BA chart 3205, 23.ix.1949; APC, 1955, p. 6; BA chart 3205, 23.xi.1962). Estrecho Burden (Argentine. MM, 1953, p. 314; Pierrou, 1970, p. 225). The passage was photo- graphed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57. Paso Burden (Chile. DNH chart 1400, 1961; IHA, 1974, p. 60). Proliv Berden (Soviet Union. MMF chart, 1961).

A marine passage between D'Urville Island and Bransfield Island, off the NE end of Antarctic Peninsula. Charted in 1947 by the FIDS and named after Eugene Burden (1892-1979), who, as master of the Trepassey, first navigated the passage in January 1947.

Cartografiada en 1947 por el FIDS de 1947-1948, al mando del Mayor K.S.P. Butler, en las naves "Fitz-Roy" y "Trepassey". El FIDS le puso el nombre por el apellido de Eugene Burden, el cual, como capitán de la nave "Trepassey", navegó por primera vez este paso. Este paso separa a la isla D'Urville de la isla Bransfield, ambas situadas frente al extremo NE de la península Luis Felipe.
