A rocky peninsula projecting from the ice in the northern part of the Bunger Hills. Delineated from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47) Named by USACAN after J Countess, air crewman on the Operation Highjump seaplane which landed on one of the lakes in the Bunger Hills in February, 1947. NOTE: It has the name Skalistyj, poluostrov in the Russian gazetteer.

Approximately 2900m high. A greywacke peak, 6 miles south of Mt McDonald at the head of Trafalgar Glacier. Named by the NZFMCAE, 1962-63, for William Burton, Leading Stoker, RN, a member of the crew of the "Terra Nova" of the BAE, 1910-13. Burton who lives in New Zealand, was a guest of the US Navy during the 1962-63 Antarctic season when he visited the continent again with two others of Scott's veterans.

Named by the NZFMCAE, 1962-63, after William Burton, crew member on the Terra Nova during the BrAE, 1910-13. Burton, who lived in New Zealand, was a guest of the U.S. Navy during the 1962-63 Antarctic season when he visited the continent again with two others of Scott's veterans.
