The largest glacier, about 40 mi long and 11 mi wide, flowing NW between Mount Bergersen and Balchen Mountain in the Sor Rondane Mountains. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1957 from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump, 1946-47, and named for R. Admiral Richard E. Byrd, USN, commander of USN Operation Highjump.
