COMPOSITE GAZETTEER OF ANTARCTICA

Bay indenting the S coast of King George Island immediately E of Fildes Peninsula, in the South Shetland Islands. The name appears on a chart by Scottish geologist David Ferguson, who roughly charted the bay in 1913-14, but may reflect an earlier naming.

head of Maxwell Bay, King George Island, was named Collin's Harbour by nineteenth-century sealers (Fildes, 1821c). Nebles Harbour or Nebles Hafen (Nebles Point, q.v.), referring to this feature or to an anchorage N of Ardley Island (Weddell, 1825a, map facing p.132; 1827, third end map). The harbour was roughly charted by Ferguson in 1913-14 and recharted by DI in 1935. Este nombre apareció en una carta por el geólogo escocés David Ferguson, quien la cartografió en forma aproximada en 1913-1914, pero puede ser reflejo de un nombre anterior. Bahía que se forma en el lado W de la isla Rey Jorge, y está situada al NNW de caleta Marian, en las islas Shetland del Sur.
