An ice shelf 35 mi long and 25 mi wide, occupying the inner (east) part of the embayment between King and Canisteo Peninsulas. Mapped from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump, 1946-47. Named by US-ACAN for Lt. Jerome R. Cosgrove, USNR, asst. communications officer on the staff of the Commander, USN Support Force, Antarctica, during USN OpDFrz, 1967 and 1968.
