flowing SE into Whirlwind Inlet, Bowman Coast, was surveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1947; in association with the names of glaciologists grouped in this area, named after Max Harrison Demorest (1910-42), American glaciologist who lost his life on active service with the US army, in a crevasse accident on the Greenland ice cap, 30 November 1942; member of expeditions to Greenland, 1930-31 and 1932-33 (BA chart 3570, 4.vi.1954; APC, 1955, p.8; DCS 601 sheet 67 64, 1955). Glaciar Demorest (Argentina. MM chart 110, 1957; Pierrou, 1970, p.306). Lednik Demoresta (Soviet Union. MMF chart, 1961).

Glacier which flows SE into Whirlwind Inlet between Flint and Matthes Glaciers, on the E coast of Graham Land. Discovered by Sir Hubert Wilkins on a flight of Dec. 20, 1928, and photographed from the air by the USAS in 1940. Charted by the FIDS in 1947 and named for Max H. Demorest, American glaciologist.

Fue descubierto por Sir Hubert Wilkins durante un vuelo del 20 de diciembre de 1928 y fotografiado desde el aire por el USAS en 1940. Fue cartografiado por el FIDS en 1947 y su nombre recuerda a Max H. Demorest, glaciólogo estadounidense. Glaciar que fluye en dirección E hacia la ensenada Whirlwind, entre los glaciares Yáñez y Matthes, en la costa E de la península Tierra de O'Higgins.
