forming E extremity of Laurie Island and terminating in Cape Dundas, was roughly charted by Weddell in 1823; further charted by SNAE in 1903 and named after James G. Ferrier, Secretary of SNAE and for many years secretary to W. S. Bruce, Commander of the expedition (Bruce and others, chart, [1903c]; Bruce, 1905b, map facing p.322; BA, 1930, p.50; APC, 1955, p.10).Península Ferrier [incorrectly referring to the peninsula terminating in Cape Whitson, q.v.] (Argentina. IGM map 104, 1933; [correctly indicated] Argentina. MM, 1945, p.278). The peninsula was recharted by DI in 1933. Península Foster (Argentina. MM, 1953, p.190).

Narrow peninsula, 1.5 mi long, forming the E end of Laurie Island in the South Orkney Islands. Roughly charted in 1823 by a British sealing expedition under Weddell. Surveyed in 1903 by the ScotNAE under Bruce, who named it for his secretary J.G. Ferrier, also manager in Scotland of the expedition.
