flowing S into Whirlwind Inlet, Bowman Coast, was seen from the air by Wilkins, 20 December 1928, and photographed from the air by USAS in 1940; surveyed from the ground by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1947; in association with the names of glaciologists grouped in this area, named after Richard Foster Flint (1902-76), American glacial geologist; Professor of Geology, Yale University, New Haven, Conn., 1940-70; author of many publications including Glacial geology and the Pleistocene Epoch (New York and London, 1947) (BA chart 3570, 4.vi.1954; APC, 1955, p.10; DCS 601 sheet 67 64, 1955). Glacier which flows S into Whirlwind Inlet between Demorest Glacier and Cape Northrop, on the E coast of Graham Land. Discovered by Sir Hubert Wilkins on his flight of Dec. 20, 1928, and photographed from the air by the USAS in 1940. Charted in 1947 by the FIDS, who named it for Richard F. Flint, glaciologist and professor of geology at Yale University.

Descubierto por Sir Hubert Wilkins en su vuelo del 20 de diciembre de 1928 y aerofotografiado por el USAS en 1940. Cartografiado por el FIDS en 1947, que le dio el nombre por Richard F. Flint, glaciólogo y profesor de geología en la Universidad de Yale. El nombre actual corresponde al apellido del biólogo marino Parmenio Yáñez Andrade, director de la Estación de Biología Marina de la U. de Chile, quien efectuó estudios sobre la vida marina durante la Expedición Antártica Chilena de 1947. Glaciar que fluye en dirección S, hacia la ensenada Whirlwind, entre el glaciar Demorest y el cabo Northrop, en la costa E de la península Tierra de O'Higgins.
