SE of Foca Point (q.v.), Signy Island, following biological work by BAS up to 1973 was so named in association with the point (APC, 1975, p.3; DOS 210 Signy Island sheet, 2-DOS 1975). A BAS refuge hut, established near the head of the cove, 1959-60, is known as "Foca Hut".
