Northern Survey Party of the CTAE (1956-58). Named by them for its similarity to the Canterbury, N.Z., mountain of that name, and in association with Mount Whitcombe (q.v.).

Seen frequently by the ANARE Prince Charles Mountains survey parties in 1971 and 1972.Named after Don F. Styles, (then) Deputy Director of the Antarctic Division, Melbourne.
