off Cape Monaco, Anvers Island, were roughly charted by GAE, 1873-74, and named as one island Gossler Insel after Herr Gossler, of Hamburg, who helped to finance the expedition (Petermann, map, 1975b). Gossler Inseln (Neumayer, 1901, Tafel 4 following p.488). The islands were further charted by FAE, 1903-05. Île Gossler (Charcot, 1906a, map facing p.316). Îles Gossler (Gourdon, 1908, end map). MM, 1953, p.267; Pierrou, 1970, p.396; Chile. IHA, 1974, p.139). The islands were photographed from the air by FIDASE in 1956.

Fueron descubiertos y denominados por la Expedición Antártica Alemana de 1873-1874, al mando Eduard Dallmann. Forman un cordón de islotes que se extienden de N a S, se encuentran a 2 millas al W del cabo Alberto de Mónaco, isla Anvers en el archipiélago de Palmer.

Surrounded by some islets, the island lies 2 km W of Cape Monaco, at the SW tip of Anvers Island, Palmer Archipelago, W side of the Antarctic Peninsula. Discovered during German Antarctic Expedition 1873/74 under Captain Eduard Dallmann (1830-1896).
