Su nombre fue dado en 1935 por personal del Discovery II, sugerido por la forma de la isla de más al N que presenta dos picachos agudos de piedra. Se presumía que su existencia era conocida por los primeros cazadores de focas en esta zona. Grupo de islas pequeñas, de regular altura y relieve abrupto, situadas dos millas al SE de isla Flat y a 3,4 millas al NNW de cabo Morris en la isla Robert, islas Shetland del Sur.
