The largest of the Haswell Islands, lying off the coast of Antarctica, about 1.5 mi N of Mabus Point. Discovered by the Western Base Party of the AAE, 1911-14, under Mawson, and named by him for Prof. William A. Haswell, zoologist at Sydney University and member of the AAE Advisory Committee.
