A large ice piedmont along the coast of Queen Maud Land, lying E of Jutulstraumen Glacier and N of the Muhlig-Hofmann Mountains. Photographed from the air by the GerAE (1938-39). Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from surveys and air photos by NBSAE (1949-52) and air photos by the Norwegian expedition (1958-59). Named for Sigurd Helle, leader of the 1957 Norwegian expedition to Queen Maud Land.
