A glacier-filled valley, 20 mi long, trending N-S between the Humboldt Mountains and the Petermann Ranges in Queen Maud Land. The feature was discovered and mapped by the GerAE under Ritscher, 1938-39, who named it in association with the adjacent Humboldt Mountains.

The ice stream (Norwegian name Humboldtsökket) is draining the continental ice sheet Wegenerinlandeis, seperating Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gebirge in the W and the mountain range Westliche Petermannkette in the E, Wohlthatmassiv, Fimbulheimen, Neuschwabenland, Donning Maud Land. Discovered during German Antarctic Expedition 1938/39 ('Neuschwabenland-Expedition') under Alfred Ritscher.
