off NW tip of Lahille Island, Graham Coast, were roughly charted by FAE, 1903-05, as a single island which was named IÎle Lippmann after Gabriel Lippmann (1845-1921), French physicist and Nobel Laureate in physics, 1908; member of the Commission des Travaux Scientifiques of FAE, 1908-10 (Charcot, 1906a, map facing p.316).
