NE entrance point of Deloncle Bay, Graham Coast, was sighted by BeAE in February 1898 (Lecointe, 1903, Carte 5); charted by FAE, 1903-05, and named Pointe de Loubat after M. de Loubat, a supporter of the expedition (Charcot, 1906b, p.474; 1908, map p.36); further charted by BGLE in 1935-36. Cape de Loubat (USHO, 1943, p.138). Loubat Point (APC, 1955, p.14; BA chart 3572, 25.vii.1958). Cape Loubat, as rejected form (USBGN, 1956, p.197). The point was photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57. Mys Renar, referring in error to this feature (Cape Renard, q.v.) (Soviet Union. MMF chart, 1961). Punta Loubat (Chile. DNH chart 1502, 1962; IHA, 1974, p.189).

Point forming the N side of the entrance to Deloncle Bay, on the W coast of Graham Land. Probably first seen by the BelgAE, 1897-99. Resighted by the FrAE, 1903-05, and named by Charcot for a Monsieur de Loubat.

Descubierta probablemente por la Expedición Antártica Belga de los años 1897-1899, al mando del teniente Adrien de Gerlache. Fue visitada nuevamente y cartografiada por la Expedición Francesa de 1903-1905, que lideró el Dr. Jean B. Charcot, quien le dio el nombre del Sr. De Loubat. Punta que se forma al N de la entrada a bahía Deloncle enfrentando al canal Lemaire opuesta a isla Booth, costa W de la península Tierra de O'Higgins.
