A glacier, about 5 miles wide and 20 miles long, flowing in a north-easterly direction into Amundsen Glacier, between Mts Ellsworth and Breyer, in the Queen Maud Range. Discovered by the Byrd AE, 1928-30, when Byrd was on his South Polar flight in November 1929. Named by him for Rear Admiral William A Moffett, USN, first chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics of the Navy Department. |
